Tapes
categ_tapes.gif

This is the collection of tapes dumped from all tapes we could collect around the world. All tape dumps usually are stored in audio format: mp3, wav, aiff or whatever. There are special binary format used by 8 bit computer emulators: CAS, TAP, TZX and many others. SEGA SC-3000 hasn't one so we created a "middle way" format: The Bitstream.

The Bitstream is read by our special Online Tape Player, and synthesized to a proper square waveform. The format is much more light than the audio format. We must thank some friends that helped us in finding a way to convert audio signal to a Bitstream:

Martin Ward [ http://www.cse.dmu.ac.uk/~mward/martin/ ]:
Fast Fourier Transformation Audio signal decoder. Usually used for converting the 1200 Baud Tape Audio Format he coded a special version for SEGA SC-3000 Tape signal. Thank you very much Martin.

Martin Xavier [ http://dskcenter.free.fr/ ]:
Sinclair ZX81 Tape Audio signal decoder. He helped us in researches on bitstream conversion. Thank you Xavier!.

Visit us periodically, we will frequently update this section!
Enjoy!
